Sometimes candle dye can be an added toxin in bad candles. Here at Melting Moon rest easy knowing we use candle dye that is;

- Made with natural solvents
What's it matter?
Watch out for things such as paraffin wax, lead wicks, harmful fragrance oils and toxic candle dye when shopping for candles.
Not all candle manufacturers care about your health and safety. It's common for large corporations to use cheaper ingredients to keep their manufacturing cost low while keeping their retail price high.
Here at Melting Moon, we care! About you, the Earth, our candles and so much more. We never want our candles to hurt anything, not even your pockets. We promise to provide you with the best quality for a fair price.
Testing
Here at Melting Moon we place a lot of importance on knowing how our products perform. We aim to provide you only the very best, and can only accomplish that through testing our products.
What things do we look for in candle testing?
Things we look for include:
- Wax pool temperature
- Container temperature
- Amount of soot
- Size of carbon balls
- Smoke-time when extinguished
- Wax hang-up on sides
- Tunneling around the wick
Other parts of testing include adjusting blends, fragrance loads, finding the best wick for the job, burn time, and how well the scent fills a room.
Further Testing
We are not done testing. While we feel confident in our current selection, we're still working in the background to make sure we are providing you with the best that we can. Candle testing has been a very humbling experience to say the least, so please bare with us as we fine tune our last adjustments as we start off on our journey.
At Melting Moon we believe it will only get better from here. Always feel welcome to reach out with an idea or suggestion on how we can improve using the Contact page.

The Team
Meet Kelsey
Kelsey enjoys taking care of the business side of things.
You can usually catch her spending her time on things that have to do with paperwork, math, money, and well, basically the "boring" side of things around here (if you ask me).
Meet Taylor
I enjoy the crafting experience of candle-making.
Researching, creating, learning; I love the whole experience. There is just something special to be found in learning how to bring a vision to life, no matter how big or small. You can usually find me spending time on the fine-tuning and detail-work side of things.
